Das englische Kunstwort ‚Staycation‘ ist zusammengesetzt aus ‚stay‘ (bleiben) und dem zweiten Teil des Wortes ‚vacation‘ (Ferien/Urlaub). Also sinngemäß – Ferien/Urlaub zuhause. Keine Reisen sonstwohin, sondern die Ferien/den Urlaub schlichtweg zuhause verbringen. Da, wo ‚mensch’ ohnehin in der Coronakrise sein Dasein fristet oder sich sogar neu erfindet. Eine Individualempfindung.
Ist das sinnvoll? Die Frage ist eine Abwägung zwischen Eigenschutz, dem Schutz Anderer und dem Akzeptieren der Einschränkung der verfassungsrechtlich geschützen Freiheit des Individuums. Oder… dem Bestehen auf dieses Grundrecht und die Risiken ignorieren? Die Frage: ‚Was nützt mir die Freiheit, wenn ich dabei final zu Schaden kommen könnte‘, ist recht einfach zu beantworten: Im schlimmsten Falle gar nichts (mehr)! Also ist ein -man kann sagen ‚Reiseverbot‘- zu akzeptieren? Grundsätzlich nicht, doch in einer dermaßen unkalkulierbaren Zeit, wie der aktuellen, ist eine zu verbriefende Einschränkung denkbar und angebracht: Sie muss temporär sein und zwar ohne Hintertür!
Wenn diese Pandemie überwunden ist –und das wird sie- , dann ist die Würde des Menschen wieder an oberster Stelle. Die Freiheit betreffend nur dann!? Ob das dann möglich sein wird, sollte und darf nicht spekulativ sein.
Dass nicht alles erstmal so sein wird und kann, dürfte unbestritten sein. Eine schrittweise, sehr vorsichtige Lockerung der Einschränkungen ist vertretbar. Schließlich hängen nicht nur die Ökonomie, also nahezu alle Branchen, davon ab, sondern Existenzen.
Sobald die Reproduktionszahlen wieder steigen, droht eine nächste Infektionswelle, die heftiger werden könnte, glaubt man den Einschätzungen der Experten. Hier ist politisches Fingerspitzengefühl das Gebot der Zeit. Das bedeutet das gnadenlose Warten auf einen Impfstoff und entsprechender Medikamente. Ich als optimistischer Laie gehe davon aus, dass noch in diesem Jahr ein Impfstoff und Medikamente entwickelt sind. Bei nicht ganz so optimistischer Sicht im ersten Halbjahr 2021. Beides ist möglich, und diese Sichtweise -mehr ist es ja nicht- ist psychologisch sehr wichtig, weil damit eine zumindest theoretische Überschaubarkeit Licht am Ende des Tunnels erahnen lässt.
Da zitiere ich auch mal die Kanzlerin: ‚Wir schaffen das…‘. Panikmache und Verschwörungstheorien sind das blanke Gift und müssen enttarnt und ausgehebelt werden. Sie sind nur perverse Begleiterscheinungen von Trittbrettfahren, die unterhalb der Wahrnehmungsgrenze liegen sollten.

The artificial word ’staycation‘ is composed of ’stay‘ and the second part of the word ‚vacation‘, which means – vacation at home. No travelling anywhere else, but simply spending the holiday at home. There, where ‚man‘ ekes out an existence or even reinvents himself in the corona crisis anyway. An individual perception.
Does that make sense? The question is a balancing act between self-protection, the protection of others and accepting the restriction of the constitutionally protected freedom of the individual. Or… insisting on this fundamental right and ignoring the risks? The question: ‚What good is freedom if I could ultimately come to harm in the process‘ is quite simple to answer: In the worst case, nothing at all! So a – one can say ‚travel ban‘ – is to be accepted? In principle not, but in such an incalculable time like the current one, a restriction to be securitized is conceivable and appropriate: It must be temporary and without a back door!
When this pandemic is overcome – and it will be – human dignity will once again be paramount. As far as freedom is concerned, only then! Whether this will then be possible should and must not be speculative.
That not everything will and cannot be like this in the first place should be undisputed. A gradual, very cautious relaxation of the restrictions is justifiable. After all, not only the economy, i.e. almost all industries, depend on it, but also livelihoods.
As soon as reproduction figures start to rise again, there is the threat of another wave of infection, which could become more severe, according to the experts‘ estimates. Here, political tact is the order of the day. This means mercilessly waiting for a vaccine and appropriate medication. As an optimistic layman, I assume that a vaccine and medicines will be developed this year. If the view is not quite so optimistic, in the first half of 2021. Both are possible, and this view – it is more that it is not – is psychologically very important, because it allows us to see light at the end of the tunnel, at least in theory.
I would also like to quote the Chancellor: ‚We can do this…‘. Panicmongering and conspiracy theories are poison and must be exposed and levered out. They are just perverse concomitants of free-riding, which should be below the perception threshold.
