Am 04.01.2022 schaltete Blackberry seine Server für die Dienste seines eigenen Betriebessystems BB10 ab. Dazu habe ich hier diverse Male Stellung bezogen. Die Frage danach war, ob die Beeren überhaupt noch funktionieren – jedenfalls in den Grundfunktionen eines Smartphones, wie Telefon, SMS, der legendäre BB-Hub, Remember, die Taastatur usw. .

Nun, jetzt – Mitte Januar 2022, stelle ich folgendes fest: Sowohl die Telefonfunktion als auch SMS, Remember, die Tastatur und der Hub funktionieren noch. Ja, sogar WhatsApp. Also die Grundfunktionen eines Blackberry BB10 Smartphones. Es war der bange Moment, dass das alles nicht mehr zuverlässig zu gebrauchen ist.

Persönliches Fazit: Die SIM-Karte habe ich wieder vom iPhone in mein geliebtes Passport SE gesteckt und das Gefummel auf der virtuellen Glastastatur hat ein Ende.

Die sinnvolle Bedienung übernimmt -wie gewohnt- die kapazitive Taststur meines Passports. Die Einbindng in das schon ältere Rechnersystem zum Datenaustausch gelingt nach wie vor problemlos.

Es ist nicht ewig gestrig, nachhaltige Produkte lange und im Sinne des Planeten ohne große Abstriche zu nutzen

Personal conclusion: I put the SIM card back from the iPhone into my beloved Passport SE and the fumbling on the virtual glass keyboard has come to an end.

The capacitive keyboard of my Passport takes over the sensible operation – as usual. The integration into the older computer system for data exchange still works without problems.

It’s not forever old-fashioned to use sustainable products for a long time and in the spirit of the planet without much sacrifice.
