Das Wort beschreibt die Art Konsum, die über das Regenerierbare in unserem Lebensraum hinausgeht. Das ist mehr oder weniger bekannt. Nicht nur der Fleischkonsum, die Mobilität, der Stromverbrauch durch elektronische Geräte und der weltweiten Server, Streaming, Licht, Verkehr und das sogenannte ‚Sonstige‘ sind Beschleuniger des Klimawandels. Es ist das, was all das auslöst: Das Mitlaufen und das ‚Haben-Wollen‘, mit ausgelöst durch die nahezu zwangssuggerierten Bedenken oder sogar Ängste, etwas Neues zu verpassen – nicht mehr aktuell zu sein. Also Glück durch Konsum? Was für ein Unsinn. Der ökologische ‚Fußabdruck‘ eines Menschen in einem armen Land dieses Planeten ist nicht deshalb besser als der in diesem Land, weil der bescheidener ist, sondern der mangelnde oder nicht einmal vorhandene Wohlstand. Da wird das geflickt und repariert, was hier einfach entsorgt wird und die Müllberge steigen lässt. Da ist das ‚must-have‘ eine Illusion, denn das in unserer Wohlstands- und Wegwerfgesellschaft Mögliche kann man sich da einfach nicht leisten.

Natürlich will ‚man‘ solche Lebenssituationen in einem Wahlstandsstaat nicht. Nur … müssen es ständig neue Klamotten, zwanzig Paar Schuhe, alle 1-2 Jahre ein neues Smartphone oder alle paar Jahre ein neues Auto sein? Die Ironie der aktuellen Klimaproblematik ist, dass die reichen Länder sich an die Mentalität der sog. Entwicklungsländer erinnern sollten oder sogar müssen, denn nicht nur sie sind davon betroffen, sondern eben auch die armen Länder, in denen die Zutaten prekär generiert werden, die den Wohlstand und den Konsum der reichen Länder erst ermöglichen.

Nicht die noch so hoch auflösenden Bildschirme sollten die Menschen in ihrem Konsum maßgeblich manipulieren, sondern das Bewusstsein darüber, dass alle in einem Boot oder im Raumschiff Erde sitzen. Eine solche PR zur Prime-time? Wer will das ständig sehen? Den ‚Part‘ werden Starkregen, Fluten, Hitzewellen, Riesenfeuer, Hurricanes, Tornados usw. übernehmen – oder haben es schon…

Das ist das Ergebnis, wenn Wohlstand in erster Linie den Überkonsum finanziert. The word describes the kind of consumption that goes beyond what can be regenerated in our habitat. This is more or less known. Not only meat consumption, mobility, power consumption by electronic devices and the global server, streaming, light, traffic and the so-called ‚other‘ are accelerators of climate change. It is what triggers all this: the running along and the ‚wanting to have‘, co-triggered by the almost force-suggested concerns or even fears of missing out on something new – of being out of date. So happiness through consumption? What nonsense. The ecological ‚footprint‘ of a person in a poor country on this planet is better than that in this country not because that is more modest, but because of the lack of or even non-existent prosperity. There is the mending and repairing of what is simply disposed of here and causes the mountains of garbage to rise. The ‚must-have‘ is an illusion, because you simply can’t afford what is possible in our affluent and throwaway society.

Of course, ‚one‘ does not want such living situations in an electoral state. But … does it have to be constantly new clothes, twenty pairs of shoes, every 1-2 years a new smartphone or every few years a new car? The irony of the current climate problem is that the rich countries should or even must remember the mentality of the so-called developing countries, because not only they are affected by it, but also the poor countries, in which the ingredients are precariously generated, which make the prosperity and consumption of the rich countries possible.

It’s not the screens, no matter how high-resolution, that should significantly manipulate people’s consumption, but the awareness that everyone is in the same boat or spaceship Earth. Such PR at prime time? Who wants to see that all the time? The ‚part‘ will be taken over by heavy rain, floods, heat waves, giant fires, hurricanes, tornadoes etc. – or already have….

This is the result when prosperity primarily finances overconsumption. The distribution of money from the bottom up by governments of rich countries to ever more growth and consumption is a farce. Ist Afghanistan der Kollateralschaden des Westens? Truppenabzüge sind eigentlich begrüßenswert. Auch aus dem genannten Land? Auch bei den durch die Medien flimmernden Bilder und Videos? Auch bei dem immer wieder bezeichneten Chaos? Aus der Sicht der betroffenen, zurückgelassenen Menschen ist die Bezeichnung Chaos noch ein Euphemismus. Den Taliban regelrecht ausgeliefert und einfach mit den schlimmsten Konsequenzen im Stich gelassen worden zu sein, ist kein Chaos, sondern unterlassene Hilfeleistung und ein mögliches Todesurteil. Wenn milliarden- und billionenschwere Militärausgaben nicht einmal dazu führen, humanitäre Hilfe zu organisieren und zu leisten, dann stellen sich mehrere Sinnfragen. Wenn es nicht möglich ist, zu verhindern, dass ein angeblich moderaterer, religiöser Fundamentalismus einen ganzen Staat kapert und die Uhr 1300 Jahre zurückdreht, dann ist es nicht nur Versagen – dann ist es arrogante, intellektuell verschleierte Dummheit und Täterschaft. Das Aushängeschild der zivilisierten Gesellschaften und Staaten dieses Planeten ist mehr als angekratzt. Mit den Menschenrechten ist das jedenfalls nicht vereinbar.

Um den Flughafen in Kabul für die zivile Luftfahrt weiterhin unbeschädigt nutzen zu ‚dürfen‘, müssen die Taliban gefragt werden und zustimmen. Terroristen müssen gefragt werden, ob etwas gedurft werden darf. Spätestens die Situation ist ein Türöffner für die noch weitaus übleren Terrororganisatonen wie Al Quaida oder der sogenannte Islamische Staat. Der Westen hat versagt. Zigmilliarden wurden in 20 Jahren in Afghanistan versenkt, um dann das Land wieder zu verlassen – quasi aufzugeben und die Bevölkerung ihrem Schicksal zu überlassen. Da passt überhaupt nichts! Die spektakulären Militärmächte kapitulieren vor Terroristen? Biden setzt exakt das um, was dieser Politiklaie Trump in seiner ganzen narzisstischen Dämlichkeit angestoßen hat? So sieht es wohl aus…

Nicht dass ich Militäreinsätze akzeptiere (was sowieso -außer bei Wahlen- keinen Einfluss hat), so müssen sich doch die das alles finanzierenden Steuerzahler jeglicher Staaten fragen, wofür sie das denn alles finanzieren. Menschen werden ihrem Schicksal überlassen und die Staatsgewalten sollen, wollen, können, dürfen das nicht verhindern?

Ist nicht nur militärische, sondern auch politische Intelligenz ein Widerspruch insich? Das lässt sich nicht pauschalisieren, doch es zeigt, wie Entscheidungen abgewogen und schwer bis nicht mehr nachvollziehbar Leid und Tod nach sich ziehen. Das mit gesenkten Köpfen und geknickten Blicken als politische Fehleinschätzungen zu bezeichnen, reicht nicht. Das muss für Verantwortliche Konsequenzen haben.

Fazit: Terroristen fragt man nicht… man gräbt ihnen den ideologischen Boden ab. Ein paar Prozent der globalen Militärausgaben mehr in entsprechende Bildung und Aufklärung wären ein Anfang.

If it is not possible to prevent a supposedly moderate, religious fundamentalism from hijacking an entire state and turning back the clock 1300 years, then it is not just failure – it is arrogant, intellectually veiled stupidity and perpetration. The figurehead of the civilized societies and states of this planet is more than tarnished. In any case, this is not compatible with human rights.

In order to be ‚allowed‘ to continue to use the airport in Kabul for civil aviation without damage, the Taliban must be asked and agree. Terrorists have to be asked whether something may be allowed. The latest situation is a door opener for the even more evil terrorist organizations like Al-Qaeda or the so-called Islamic State. The West has failed. Tens of billions have been sunk in Afghanistan in 20 years, only to leave the country again – to abandon it, so to speak, and leave the population to its fate. Nothing fits at all! The spectacular military powers capitulate to terrorists? Biden implements exactly what this policy layman Trump has instigated in all his narcissistic stupidity? I guess that’s what it looks like…

Not that I accept military operations (which has no influence anyway, except in elections), but the taxpayers of all states who finance all this must ask themselves what they are financing it for. People are left to their fate and the state authorities should not, will not, cannot, are not allowed to prevent this?

Is not only military but also political intelligence a contradiction in terms? This cannot be generalized, but it shows how decisions that are weighed up and difficult or impossible to comprehend result in suffering and death. It is not enough to call this political misjudgement with bowed heads and dejected looks. There must be consequences for those responsible.

Conclusion: You don’t ask terrorists… you dig the ideological ground for them. A few percent more of global military spending on education and information would be a start.

Beispiel: Drei Jogger laufen auf einen nicht zu kalkulierenden Abgrund zu und beginnen hitzig darüber zu diskutieren, wie tief der wohl ist. 

Einer hechelt, dass ein Sturz nicht zu überleben ist und man lieber stehen bleiben sollte. Der Andere sagt, dass alles schon nicht so schlimm sei und irgendwo ein Ast sein wird, an dem man sich festhalten könne. Der Dritte möchte über einen noch zu diskutierenden Kompromiss abstimmen lassen.

Ihr Lauftempo verringert sich unwesentlich. Was passiert? 

Sie erreichen die Abgrundkante immer noch in Laufgeschwindigkeit und schauen – in den Abgrund.
