Einige Male habe ich hier gehofft, gewünscht, dass technische Geräte nicht, wie die Hersteller es bewerben, kurzfristig durch Nachfolgemodelle ersetzt, sondern länger genutzt werden. Beispiel Smartphones. Sieht man sich die Preise ab dem mittleren Segment an, dann ist es schwer verständlich, dass solch wertvolle Geräte für die (Hosen-) Tasche nach einem oder zwei Jahren ersetzt werden. Allein die Vorstellung, welche und wieviele Rohstoffe für die Herstellung benötigt werden, sollte durch die begrenzten Ressourcen auf diesem Planeten zumindest nachdenklich stimmen. Also länger genutzt werden. Hinzu kommen die prekären Arbeitsverhältnisse bei der Rohstoffgewinnung – ich nenne das konkret Menschenverachtung. Des Einen Leid ist in der Folge der Luxus des Anderen. Deshalb:
Da las ich heute in der FAZ, dass der Smartphoneverkauf rückläufig ist und in diesem Jahr bei ca. -18 % liegen soll. Zurückzuführen nicht nur auf Covid-19, sondern auch auf einen Mentalitätswandel bei dem Thema hinläuft. Die Geräte werden also länger genutzt. Das ich das erleben darf…
Ich rede und schreibe nicht nur davon, sondern lebe das auch. Mein Blackberry Passport ist 6 Jahre alt und wird von mir benutzt, bis es auseinander fällt oder nicht mehr sinnvoll zu gebrauchen ist. Ist das altbacken? Wenn ja, dann haben Ignoranz und Egoismus in einer Weise gewonnen, die das Wackeln dieses Planeten schon lange bestimmen.

I do not only talk and write about it, but I live it. My Blackberry Passport is 6 years old and is used by me until it falls apart or is no longer useful. Is that old-fashioned? If so, then ignorance and selfishness have won in a way that has been determining the shaking of this planet for a long time.
