Geht Deutschland der Impfstoff aus? Ist das eine Folge davon, dass das nun diskutierte Impfdesaster dem anfänglichen Impfwunder folgt?

Noch vor einigen Wochen wurde öffentlich über Zulassungen, Bestellmengen usw. eines Impfstoffes diskutiert. Und über die Logistik des Biontech/Pfizer-Impfstoffs, der bei -70º Celsius gelagert werden muss. Die Wirksamkeit war noch nicht zertifiziert. Ein Impfstoff in der kurzen Zeit zu entwickeln, ist an sich wohl schon eine Meisterleistung. Aus einer solchen, noch gar nicht kalkulierbaren Lage heraus genaue Bestellmengen usw. zu ordern, ist immer ein Va banque- Spiel. Ein nationaler Alleingang wäre nicht im EU-Sinne und damit schon lange nicht solidarisch mit Ländern, deren Möglichkeiten begrenzt oder noch weniger sind. Zumal Deutschland weiterhin ein föderalistisches Land ist. Da hakt so Manches, was aber nicht für eine zentralistische Staatsordnung spricht.

Mir dem Wissen von heute kann nicht so getan werden, als hätte der Gesundheitsminister das alles nicht nur ahnen, sondern wissen müssen. Ob ich ihn mag oder nicht… Ich denke und sehe aber trotzdem, dass er einen guten Job macht. Präkognitive Fähigkeiten wird auch er nicht haben. Die besserwissenden Leute, die jetzt laut krähen, waren in der Entscheidungsphase recht ‚bedeckt‘. Sollten allerdings tatsächlich beweisbare Versäumnisse öffentlich werden, dann sind Kritik und Konsequenz eine Einheit. Denn: In dieser Pandemie geht es nicht um eine ’sonst-wie-politische‘ Entscheidung, sondern um Menschenleben. Die Frage bleibt erstmal, warum nicht die Herstellung von Medikamenten nicht parallel gefördert wurden – trotz Beantragung der Hersteller? Man sieht: Es bleiben Fragen offen…

Das überhaupt so früh geimpft werden kann, ist geradezu ein Glücksfall, eine tatsächliche Überraschung. Die Reaktion hätte auch hektisch sein können, was ein wirkliches Chaos ausgelöst hätte. So manches Bundes- und EU-Land wurde schon mit der ruhigeren Harangehensweise überfordert.

Wissenschaft und Forschung haben so gesehen ihren Job schneller gemacht als überhaupt erwartet – nun ist die Organisation am Zuge. Letztere wurde durch den Erfolg der Ersteren überrascht. Dem anfänglichen Staunen folgte das Stochern im Wasserglas. Absolut begrüßenswert bleibt es, dass relativ besonnen vorgegangen wurde und wird, sofern man versucht, das große Ganze zu erfassen. Dafür gibt es keine passende Matrix…

Is Germany running out of vaccine? Is this a consequence of the vaccination disaster now being discussed following the initial vaccination miracle?

Just a few weeks ago, there was public discussion about approvals, order quantities, etc. of a vaccine. And about the logistics of the Biontech/Pfizer vaccine, which has to be stored at -70º Celsius. Efficacy had not yet been certified. To develop a vaccine in such a short time is probably a feat in itself. Ordering exact quantities etc. from such a situation, which cannot yet be calculated at all, is always a va banque game. Going it alone on a national level would not be in the EU’s interest and would therefore not show solidarity with countries whose possibilities are limited or even less. Especially since Germany is still a federalist country. There are many things wrong with it, but this does not speak in favor of a centralized state order.

With the knowledge of today, it cannot be pretended that the Minister of Health should not only have suspected all this, but should have known it. Whether I like him or not… But I still think and see that he is doing a good job. He won’t have precognitive abilities either. The know-it-all people who are now crowing loudly were quite ‚covered‘ in the decision-making phase. However, if demonstrable failures actually become public, then criticism and consequence are one. Because: This pandemic is not about an ‚otherwise-political‘ decision, but about human lives. For the time being, the question remains why the production of drugs was not promoted in parallel – despite the manufacturers‘ request? One sees: Questions remain open…

The fact that vaccinations can be given so early at all is almost a stroke of luck, an actual surprise. The reaction could have been hectic, which would have caused real chaos. Many a federal and EU country has already been overwhelmed by the calmer approach.

In this respect, science and research have done their job faster than expected – now it’s the organization’s turn. The latter was surprised by the success of the former. The initial amazement was followed by poking in a glass of water. It remains absolutely welcome that a relatively prudent approach was and is being taken, as long as one tries to grasp the big picture. There is no suitable matrix for this…
