‚Pigs (Three Different Ones)‚ der britischen Rockband Pink Floyd erschien auf deren Album ‚Animals‘ im Jahre 1977.

In die Typen Hunde, Schweine und Schafe (Dogs, Pigs, Sheep), hat der Komponist Roger Waters die Menschen aufgeteilt. Auf der sozialen Leiter ganz oben sind für ihn die ‚Pigs‘, die Moralapostel, die über die Anderen mit Skrupellosigkeit und kriminelem Handeln herrschen mit eigenem Verhaltenskodex. Die Interessen der Anderen interessieren diese Selbstgefälligen nicht. Die Dogs sind über Leichen gehende, prifitorientierte Kapitalisten, also die, die nur ans Geld denken. Die Sheep sind die breite Masse, die einfach nur in Ruhe gelassen werden will. (Meine interpretation).

Waters war dabei von Orwells Animal Farm inspiriert.

Das ist ein zeitloses Thema und absolut passend zum kriegerischen Wahnsinn der heutigen Zeit.

‚Pigs (Three Different Ones)‚ ist der Part auf dem Album, der bei mir einen jahrzehntelangen Nachhall erzeugte. Gute Kopfhörer oder Boxen … dann wird es heftig.

Das gesamte, sozialkritische Album ist ein Wechselspiel von instrumenteller Härte, dem Gegenteil und entsprechender Intonierung geprägt. Es hinterlässt einen bleibenden Eindruck sowohl musikalisch als auch textisch.

Pigs (Three Different Ones)‘ by the British rock band Pink Floyd appeared on their album ‚Animals‘ in 1977.

The composer Roger Waters has divided people into the types Dogs, Pigs, Sheep. On the social ladder at the top are for him the ‚Pigs‘, the moralizers, who rule over the others with unscrupulousness and criminal actions with their own code of conduct. The interests of others do not interest these complacent ones. The Dogs are over corpses going, prifitorientierte capitalists, thus those, which think only of the money. The Sheep are the broad masses who just want to be left alone. (My interpretation).

Waters was inspired by Orwell’s Animal Farm.

It’s a timeless theme and absolutely appropriate to the warlike madness of today.

Pigs (Three Different Ones)‘ is the part on the album that created a decade-long reverberation with me. Good headphones or speakers … then it becomes fierce.

The entire, socially critical album is characterized by an interplay of instrumental harshness, the opposite and appropriate intonation. It leaves a lasting impression both musically and lyrically.
